"Yuvraj Singhania! Stop right there!!!" Taani loudly shouted as soon as Yuvi turned around to walk away.
All the heads turned towards her in shock and alarm, even the receptionist stood up in surprise, the pen she was writing with, fell down on her desk with a loud clatter.
Yuvi closed his eyes with a resigned sigh and said. "Hey bhagwan! Ab isse kon bachaega?" (Oh God! Who's going to save me from her now?)
"Bohot gusse mai lag rahi hain bhai, aap to gaye aaj!" (She's looking very angry brother, you're so gone now!) Rishi murmured while smiling wide, looking at his brother's frightened face.
"Bhabhi jaan! What a surprise!" (Darling sister-in-law! What a surprise!) Rishi said smiling wide at her.
"Mrs. Singhania!??" The receptionist said on a loud gasp, now scared for her god damned job.
"Did I forget to mention that? Oops, my bad!" Taani replied with a small smirk on her face.
"Bhabhi maa bol kameene!" (She's not your darling, you rascal!) Yuvi said hitting Rishi on his head.
"Oww bhaiya!" Rishi said, glaring at Yuvi.
"Dono hi pagal hain..." (Both of them have gone mad...) She murmured. "You see what I have to deal with all the time!?" She said turning towards Samita, who was still reeling from her shock to reply with anything.
Taani made her way towards Yuvi, naturally commanding the attention of every single person present in her vicinity.
'Hot damn! My sexy little boss lady!' He thought in his mind.
Taani walked up to him and snapped her fingers in front of his face, bringing him back to reality. "Patidev! Kahan khoye hue ho? Bukhar dimaag pe chad gaya hai kya?" (Oh dear husband! Where have you gone? Has your fever reached your brain or what?)
The man standing beside Yuvi coughed to hide his laugh. "Drink some water Mr. Mehta, you need it!" Yuvi said with a mocking smile on his face.
"Aap pehle apni chinta karo! Aisa konsa zaruri kaam hai jo aapse ek din bhi ghar pe nahi raha ja raha hai? Huhh?" (You worry about yourself first! What's so important that you couldn't even stay at home for a day? Huhh?) Taani asked, while folding her hands in anger.
This was the first time Yuvraj was getting scolded like this in front of all the people of his company yet he was totally unbothered about his reputation and his only concern right now was to calm his angry little wife, whose face had literally turned red from anger.
"Mai to kabse bol raha hu bhaiya ko ghar jaane ke liye par ye sunte hi nahi..." (I've been telling him to go home for so long but he just won't listen...) Rishi said to aggravate an already enraged Taani.
"You just shut up!" Yuvraj replied while rolling his eyes, already knowing what his evil brother is trying to do.
"Don't talk to him like that!" Taani said while physically turning Yuvi towards herself. Rishi mockingly wiggled his eyebrows from behind Taani making Yuvi narrow his eyes at him but he cleverly remained silent, knowing that his wife is going to chew off his head in anger if he said anything to her precious brother-in-law.
"Aur aap mujhe ye batao aapki company doob jaegi ek din aap office nahi aaoge to?" (Tell me one thing, is your company going to dissolve if you don't come here for a day?) She asked, raising an eye brow at him.
"Meri baat to suno-" (Just listen to me once-) Yuvi tried to speak but once again was cut off by Taani who was not ready to let him speak just yet.
"Ji nahi, aap humari baat suno! Halat dekhi hai apni? Bandar jesa muhh laal ho rakha hai!" (Oh no, you listen to me! Have you even seen yourself? Your face is red like a monkey!)
Yuvi's jaw dropped in surprise at her words while Rishi and Mr. Mehta both choked out a surprised laugh which they instantly tried to cover up with a cough instead.
"Aww wifey, that's just rude now..." Yuvi replied with a pout on his face.
"That's the reality!" Taani said, all the while trying not to blush at his random use of such cute nicknames.
She realised that now she had to turn on her dramatic side to emotionally blackmail him or else he won't listen to her. "I asked you to stay back for your own good. Do my words mean nothing to you Yuvi?" Taani said with quivering lips and tearful eyes, seeming to be on the verge of crying.
Yuvi's eyes widened at her sudden change of mood, he never meant to make her cry under any circumstances. "Tani...meri jaan... Aachhooo!" He let out a loud sneeze and literally had to close his eyes for a few seconds to focus once again. His head throbbed with an unbearable ache. "Fuck my life!" He murmured while rubbing his forehead.
"You're already doing a pretty good job at it dear husband. Stay here and ruin your health. Who cares? It's not like you'd listen to me anyways!" Taani said and turned to walk away.
Yuvi hurriedly caught on to her wrist. "Okay okay fine! I'm coming with you, just let me get my things first."
'A gaye na line pe Mr. Akdu?' (See how fast you came to your senses Mr. Akdu!) Taani thought in her mind with an evil laugh.
She gave a triumphant smile and turned to lead the way back to the elevator with a literal bounce in her steps. "Come on then, we should hurry." Yuvi rolled his eyes with a smile on his face. "Drama queen!" He said, following after her without any complaint, leaving behind a crowd of people who were still reeling from the shock of seeing their usually cold, rude and stone faced boss being an absolute sweetheart in front of his wife.
They both entered his office. This was the first time for Taani to be here and the very first thing that she noticed was their wedding picture kept on his desk then she let out a loud gasp looking at the one kept beside it.
It was a candid picture of her and Kiki, clicked at her home where she was smiling widely while hugging Kiki tight to herself, and Kiki was giving her an open mouthed kiss on her cheeks.
Taani wordlessly walked up to his desk and picked up the picture. Looking at Kiki and her sweet smile brought tears to her eyes. "Oh my sweet little Kiki." She whispered while sweetly kissing the frame.
Yuvi walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her waist, keeping his chin on her shoulder. Taani automatically leaned into his touch, getting a familiar sort of comfort and warmth in his arms. "She is the sweetest kid ever!" Yuvi murmured while looking at the picture but he was more focused on his wife and her unrestrained smile.
'I wish we have some of our own one day, just as sweet and beautiful as you.' He wishfully thought in his mind while looking down at his hands on her flat stomach, imagining her carrying his babies, wobbling all over the house.
"She really is..." Taani murmured back. "I didn't realise you even clicked a picture."
"That's the whole point of clicking candid. You looked so damned happy, I just wanted to capture the moment... wanted to capture how fucking ecstatic you seemed in it." Yuvi replied.
Taani closed her eyes as her heartbeats quickened at his words. 'It's nothing, it's nothing, he's just saying it as a matter of fact Taani. Don't try to make something out of it which isn't really there.' She chanted in her mind like a prayer. Trying hard not to react to any of what he's saying.
"You have kept it on your desk..." Taani murmured after a while, not knowing what exactly she wanted to convey, letting him interpret her words however he wanted to.
"Indeed..." Yuvi replied, being equally vague which frustrated her to no end.
'Why!?? Why have you kept it here?' She screamed in her mind but otherwise stayed silent and tried not to react in any way.
"Will you send me this photo on my mobile as well?" She asked while keeping the frame back in its place.
"Of course." He replied, still keeping his hands firmly placed around her waist.
Taani nodded her head and removed his hands from around her. She stepped a bit away from him before planting a rather made up smile on her face and said. "Come on now, hurry up and pack your things, we need to go and you need a lot of rest Mr. Stubborn!"
Yuvi looked at her with a melancholic smile on his face, wishing to tell her the real reason for keeping that photo. 'Kaise batau tumhe ki dil ko ajeeb sa sukoon milta hai tumhara hasta hua chehra dekh kar...' (How do I tell you that my heart feels at peace when I look at your smiling face...)
"Jo hukum biwi sahiba!" (Whatever you say my darling wife!) He said and took his laptop along with a few project files which he'll go through later at home.
They both came back home and found Divya and Meenal sitting in the drawing room, busy gossiping with each other. Divya merely looked at him and mockingly raised an eyebrow to which he just rolled his eyes and silently followed after his wife.
"Bhagwaan inhe har buri nazar se bachaye." (May God protect them from every evil eye.) Meenal said while looking at their retreating figures with a smile on her face.

Taani served him food, which he begrudgingly ate as he wasn't really hungry but had to eat something before taking his medicines. She then quite literally ordered him to lay down and rest. Yuvi could now feel the ache in every single muscle of his body, his head was throbbing as well. Coming back home started to seem like a blessing all of a sudden.
The effect of the medicines made him drowsy and just as Taani was getting up off the bed he sleepily held on to her hand and murmured. "Please stay for a while...my head hurts."
Without any complaints, just like last night, she stretched her legs and made him sleep comfortably on her lap and started to massage his head. In only a few minutes he was out like a light, looking tired and exhausted even in his sleep.
"Why do you have to push yourself so hard Yuvi? How could you be so reckless with your health?" Taani asked while still massaging his head, her eyes then went to the files he brought back with him. She ever so gently laid his head back on the pillow and wrapped him properly with the blanket before making her way towards the bundle of files.
They were files of some small projects and all she had to do was study the terms and conditions, and cross check if they were the same in the final contract as decided previously by the parties, and make necessary changes.
Her eyes sparkled in excitement, wanting to do the work, both because it would help Yuvi and also because she was itching to do something outside of the household work. She had helped her father with these kinds of things numerous times and knew how to tackle them all.
After much consideration, she made herself comfortable on the bed, took one file out of the bundle and started studying it. She marked all the changes and doubts that she thought were necessary with a pencil so Yuvi could change it later if he wanted to.
Daring to go one step further, she added a few points of herself within the negotiations which she thought might work in their favour in the future.
She was so immersed in her work that she didn't even remember to have lunch. She contemplated if she should stop or just finish with the remaining files as she was almost done with all of them, but her grumbling stomach made the decision for her instead.
She stretched her muscles with a huge smile on her face. "God it feels so nice to get to work after such a long time."
She took the last file she had to read through with her and stacked the remaining files back in their place before heading downstairs to eat something.
She found Divya and Aadesh in the kitchen. Divya was cooking something which smelled deliciously sweet while Aadesh was sitting on the barstool in front of her. Taani stopped to admire them from afar for a while. They seemed so in love and in tune with each other.
Divya would just come close to the counter and Aadesh would automatically pass her the next ingredient. He randomly kept feeding her dry fruits and biscuits in between while she happily chatted away.
Divya just had to bring the spoon near his mouth and he would open it to eat whatever she was feeding him, without any question or complaint. This was what she wanted, this was the kind of connection she craved for, this was the kind of love she yearned for.
Taani shook herself out of her depressing thoughts and made her way towards the kitchen.
"Taani! You must be hungry, come on I'll serve you lunch, sit!" Divya said while placing a plate for her on the counter.
Taani kept the file on the counter and made her way inside the kitchen instead. "Don't worry maa, I'll serve myself, you continue with your cooking, it smells amazing by the way!"
"Oh nonsense! Go and sit, I'm serving you!" Divya said and ushered her towards one of the barstools.
Aadi picked up the file she kept and studied through it. "Isn't this the project Yuvi just took on a few days ago?" He asked.
"Yeah dad, he brought it back home with him to go through it so I thought I'll help him out a bit with it." Taani replied.
"You marked all these key points!?" Aadesh asked with a raised eyebrow, not quite believing his eyes.
"Umm yeah... did I make any mistake?" Taani nervously asked. "I marked everything with a pencil so it shouldn't be much of an issue to change certain points if you want me to do so." She continued on with her ramble.
"These are excellent Taani! I'm so proud of you! You have marked even the smallest of points which one might have ignored. Ranveer was right, you really are a gem my daughter. Well done!" Aadesh replied with a huge smile on his face, while gently patting on her head.
Taani looked at Divya, who too was smiling proudly at her and shrieked in excitement.
"This makes me wonder, why haven't you joined the company yet?" Aadesh asked.
Taani didn't know what to say, before her marriage she wanted to take some time off before joining her dad and brother. Then this marriage happened and everything just sort of changed for her.
Of course she had given it some thought but actually working on these files today made her realise how much she wants to start her work life as well.
"I'd told her the same thing a few days earlier." Divya commented.
"I had given it some thought but hadn't actually decided on anything yet. To be honest though, working on these files really made me realise just how much I want to start this chapter of my life as well." Taani replied with an unsure smile on her face.
"Then you have all our blessings Taani! Go on. In fact join from tomorrow only, I'm sure Yuvi would love it as well." Aadesh said with a comforting smile on his face.
"Yeah but first I'll have to talk to him about it." Taani replied.
"Of course!" Aadesh said and then looked towards Divya. "How long are you going to take? Give me my Kheer!"
'Of course, it's a sweet dish!' Taani thought in her mind with a giggle.
"It's almost done! Wait a few more minutes you impatient man! Taani will also be done with her lunch by then, then we'll have it together." Divya said as she stirred the Kheer with a spoon.
"Hurry up Taani! Or I might die of hunger!" Aadesh dramatically replied making both Taani and Divya laugh.
"Such a drama queen!" Divya replied with a roll of her eyes and deliberately told Taani to take her time and not to hurry at all.
Taani finished having lunch and told them to sit comfortably in the drawing room, and that she'd bring the bowls of Kheer over there only.
They enjoyed the dessert together while gossiping about some of their distant relatives. Divya was telling Taani all about the people who she had to be careful about in family gatherings.
"Hear me out, you really really need to look out for one of Aadi's cousins. She is a real snake I'm telling you!" Divya said making Taani look at Aadesh with wide eyes full of excitement.
Aadi just nodded his head dutifully, more focused on eating Kheer than anything else. "She is right!" He said with a nonchalant shrug.
"What did she do?" Taani asked.
"What didn't she do? She is the real life komolika I'm telling you! Be glad she wasn't able to attend your wedding."
Taani merely laughed and said. "Aww she must not be that bad..."
"She is the worst. You won't believe it, she had introduced me to Aadi's ex at my God damned reception! That bitch!" Divya said in disgust while angrily smashing the spoon in her bowl of Kheer.
Taani laughed at the way Aadesh just dutifully continued to nod at everything his wife was saying without any arguments.
"And then there's his bua (aunt), she will keep pestering you to have babies whenever she visits." Taani's mind immediately began to imagine how hers and Yuvi's babies would look like and tried not to blush at her sudden chain of thoughts but the teasing smile on Divya's face said she knew all about it already.
"She had the audacity to ask me if I was thinking of having more babies while a newborn Rishi was wailing in my arms! I swear I was this close to throwing her out of the house!" Divya dramatically exclaimed while Aadesh just laughed at the silly expressions of his wife.
"And you would have done it as well, had I not intervened in time." Aadesh said.
"Sue me! I had just given birth, I was high on emotions." Divya replied.
"Sure sure, just blame the pregnancy..." Aadesh said with a teasing smile on his face.
Divya just narrowed her eyes at him and said. "Shut up!"
Taani laughed and then excused herself to check up on Yuvi. She found him still sleeping in the same position and bent to check his body temperature by placing the back of her palm on his forehead.
"Thank God, the fever finally broke..." She said while caressing his forehead and lovingly gave him a kiss on it, thinking he was fast asleep.
Just as she was about to get up, Yuvi snaked an arm around her waist and pulled her towards himself. Before she could even comprehend what was happening, she found herself on her back, lying beside Yuvi who apparently was wide awake.
"Kya jo mai soch raha hu, wo abhi sach mai hua...?" (Is what I'm thinking, really just happened...?) Yuvi asked with a huge sleepy smile on his face.
Taani looked at him with wide eyes filled with panic. "Nahi... Aapka bukhar dimaag pe chad gaya hai! Doctor se check up karwao pati dev!" (No... Your fever has affected your brain! Get yourself checked by a doctor, dear husband!)
Yuvi gave a slight chuckle and pulled her tight to himself, while kissing her on her cheek. "Cheeky little vixen!" He murmured.
Taani closed her eyes and allowed herself a few precious seconds to relish being in his arms. "Are you feeling better now?" She asked while looking sideways at him.
Yuvraj opened his eyes to gaze into her beautiful ones, which were filled with concern for his well being. He impulsively kissed her cheek once again before replying. "Much better... Although my nose is still blocked, which really sucks." He said with a pout, angry at the fact that he still couldn't take a whiff of Taani's mouthwatering fragrance.
"It's going to be alright soon, I'll prepare some kadha for you, that should help cure the cold faster."
Yuvi scrunched his nose in disgust. "No thanks, I'd rather deal with having cold than drink that poisonous drink."
Taani rolled her eyes at his dramatics. "Don't be a drama queen."
"Learning from the best!" He replied with a smirk.
"Smartass!" She commented while trying to pry his hands away from her.
"Just a few more minutes please..." He mumbled burying his face in her neck while clutching her tight to himself. Taani let out a startled laugh and tried to move her neck away from him.
"Yuvi stop! It tickles!" She said looking sideways at him. Her laugh was like a medicine itself, it made his heart feel so much lighter. He deliberately rubbed his nose on the side of her neck making her burst in a fit of giggles.
"Yuvi no! Stop!" She said while squirming in his hold trying to free herself.
After a while Yuvi stopped tickling her and they lay there facing each other. Slowly and gradually Taani's smile disappeared, her heartbeat quickened as she alternated looking between his eyes and his lips.
Yuvi's eyes went to her lips which she unconsciously opened as if wanting to get a taste of his. He leaned closer to her, desperate to kiss her, but at the last moment stretched his neck to give a kiss on her forehead instead.
Taani closed her eyes and mentally shook herself to come out of the haze she was in, cursing herself for wanting him to kiss her. She then quickly got off the bed and hurried away while saying that she will go and make some Kadha for him.
